Orchard Village, founded in Skokie, Illinois in 1972, is a fully licensed nonprofit organization that annually provides support to nearly 300 individuals (all ages) with developmental disabilities in north and northwest Chicagoland. We empower people with developmental disabilities through vocational, educational, recreational, and residential programs to live their best lives. Orchard Village is seeking a full-time Vocational Specialist to join our team!
Vocational Specialist Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload and provide individualized person-centered support in the following vocational areas:
- Pre-vocational support, career counseling, job search techniques, interviewing skill development
- Job development and job placement in the community
- Job retention and job coaching services
- Job accommodation recommendations and referrals
- Community resource coordination.
Vocational Specialist Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in rehabilitation counseling, psychology, social work or related field desired
- Two years working in vocational/residential with people with developmental disabilities preferred. Sales experience desirable
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required
- Personal vehicle required
